Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. At the age of five years old and moved to Oxfordshire and attended the Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she made the decision to be an actor. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford where she was taught acting as well as singing. As early as age ten she was involved as the lead in a number of Stagecoach School plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book began in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. After eight consecutive auditions, director David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast to play the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first film on the screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. It was also one of the top-rated films in 2001. Its opening days and weekends of sales were record-breaking. Reviewers praised the film, and especially the young performers. The widely distributed British publication The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for the feature Film. She was later recognized five times in recognition of her part in the film.
